Our Approach
SRM360 believes an informed dialogue about SRM starts with the science and the evidence. We work with experts from around the world to create content that is grounded in high-quality research, that allows audiences to reach their own views.
We are guided by these core principles:
- Audience-focused: We seek to provide content that is relevant and useful for our audiences. We engage in regular consultations with people and organisations across the climate change community, and review comments submitted by readers. We use this feedback to identify gaps in understanding and how to communicate more effectively.
- Science- and evidence-based: Informed decision-making about SRM relies on high-quality science and evidence. Our content provides clear citations and sourcing and is based on the best available research and analysis.
- Expert-reviewed: All our content is reviewed by an international and multidisciplinary team of Expert Contributors and a wide range of experts in the field. Our Advisory Group also offers high-level strategic advice and feedback.
- Accessible: We envisage a world where people around the world can easily access information about SRM, in multiple languages. We aim to present our content in an engaging manner that makes sense to anyone with a basic knowledge of science, and it is free to all.
- Questioning: All our content identifies both what researchers know and don’t know about SRM and highlights open questions which could benefit from further research.
Editorial Process
All SRM360 content is produced in collaboration between in-house writers and external experts. Attribution is given to all authors and reviewers of SRM360 content.
Our in-house staff, led by Editorial Director Peter Irvine, determines the editorial direction for SRM360 with guidance from our Advisory Group, our Expert Contributors, and through regular interaction with our audiences.
Each quarter, SRM360 will focus on a specific theme, researching, writing and producing content in collaboration with relevant experts. SRM360’s editorial staff also reviews questions and comments submitted by readers and uses this input to identify future topics to cover and to identify potential issues with our published content.
