SRM Approaches

Sunlight reflection methods, also known as solar radiation modification or SRM, describes a set of ideas to limit global warming by reflecting a small amount of sunlight. They range from potential interventions at the surface, to the lower and upper atmosphere, and out in space.

While they raise some similar challenges, all these approaches vary considerably in terms of feasibility and cooling potential and would have distinct impacts on the climate and environment.

This page provides a basic introduction to the various approaches.
