Blaž Gasparini is a cloud and climate scientist studying the impact high clouds have on climate. He focuses on the intersection of cloud (micro)physics and climate, investigating the formation and dissipation of high clouds and their potential changes with warming. His recent work has contributed to a deeper comprehension of the interaction between radiative and microphysical feedbacks in tropical anvil clouds. His research has strongly shaped the study of cirrus cloud thinning by highlighting the challenges such a method would need to overcome to achieve a climate cooling effect (Gasparini and Lohmann, 2016, Gasparini et al., 2017, Lohmann and Gasparini, 2017, Gasparini et al., 2020).
