Matt’s research focuses on economic growth futures and their implications for the environment and society, political polarisation of environmental issues, and mathematical modelling of human-environment systems, especially as it relates to natural resource management and conservation. His research combines mathematical and computer modelling, statistical analyses, and experiments. He also engages in popular writing, public outreach, public speaking, and podcasting related to these topics.
