Vani Rijhwani is a Programme Associate at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), where she researches the evolving solar geoengineering landscape, with a focus on its governance and the institutional and policy responses required in a world increasingly shaped by climate overshoot. She is a policy strategist who brings cross-sector experience to develop and communicate pragmatic, evidence-based approaches to complex climate and environmental challenges.
Prior to joining CEEW, Vani was a Climate Change Analyst at the World Bank Group, where she contributed to India’s Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR), climate finance strategies, and adaptation planning. She has also worked on India’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), greenhouse gas MRV systems, Article 13 transparency frameworks under the Paris Agreement, and state-level climate planning. Vani holds an M.Phil. in Natural Resource Management from the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), where she has also taught postgraduate courses on energy transition and carbon management.
