Cheryl Harrison is a biophysical oceanographer whose research uses ocean and Earth system modelling to understand biophysical interactions from the mesoscale to the global scale. Her work focuses on ocean transport, biogeochemical and ecological processes, higher trophic levels, and fisheries, with particular emphasis on impacts under climate change, climate interventions, and extreme climate events.

Cheryl is the Earth system model coordinator for the Fisheries Model Intercomparison Project (FishMIP) within the Inter-Sectoral Impact Model Intercomparison Project (ISIMIP), and a member of the Climate Intervention Biology Working Group. Cheryl joined Louisiana State University as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2021, following research appointments at the University of Colorado Boulder, the University of California Santa Barbara, the National Center for Atmospheric Research, Oregon State University, and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
