Dr. Sikina Jinnah is a Professor of Environmental Studies at UC Santa Cruz, where she holds the Robert Headley Presidential Chair in Integral Ecology and Environmental Justice. She is also the Associate Vice Provost of Academic Affairs the Associate Director of UCSC’s Center for Reimagining Leadership (CRL), and Director of CRL’s Climate Justice Scholars Program. Her research focuses on global environmental governance in the areas of climate change, climate engineering, and the nexus between international trade and environmental politics. She is the author or editor of 7 books and over 50 articles and book chapters. Her most recent book, Building Capacity for Public Engagement on Solar Geoengineering (2026) presents a suite of methods and model toolkit for engaging publics around emerging climate intervention technologies. Her PhD is from UC Berkeley’s Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management.
