Sofia Kabbej is a researcher and independent consultant. She is an associate researcher at the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs (IRIS), a non-resident fellow with the Alliance for Just Deliberation on Solar Geoengineering (DSG), and a member of the scientific committee of the Observatory on Defence and Climate (French Ministry for Armed Forces). Her work focuses on the security and defence implications of climate change and climate intervention techniques. Her recent projects include a report on the strategic use of climate vulnerabilities in contemporary conflicts, as well as the development of a serious game on the geopolitics of Stratospheric Aerosol Injection (SAI). Sofia holds a PhD from the University of Queensland (Australia), which examined France’s engagement with climate change as a security issue.
