Introduction to SRM
Sunlight reflection methods, also known as solar radiation modification or SRM, describes a set of ideas to limit global warming by reflecting a small amount of sunlight before it can heat the earth’s surface.
SRM could reduce many of the impacts of human-induced climate change but would not address its root causes. It would also bring additional risks and uncertainties.
This page presents an introduction to the most studied ideas, and some of the key challenges around their research and potential deployment.
